Welcome to My Personal Website!

I am a Full Professor at the Faculty of Physics of the University of Bucharest. On this website you can learn more about my academic journey, my research and teaching, research projects, student supervision and scientific publications. I hope you enjoy exploring my work, and I warmly welcome opportunities for scientific collaboration and the exchange of ideas.

A Little About Me…

My academic journey began at the University of Bucharest (Romania), with a Bachelor's degree in Physics and a Master's degree in Electronics and Metrology, complemented by an Engineering degree in Electronics and Communications from the Polytechnic University of Bucharest. I then pursued my doctoral studies in Applied Engineering Sciences at UCLouvain (Belgium), where I continued as a Postdoctoral Researcher and, since 2016, as a Scientific Collaborator, returning regularly as a Visiting Professor. Back at the University of Bucharest as Associate Professor, I obtained my Habilitation in “Physics” in 2023, becoming a doctoral supervisor at the Physics Doctoral School, and in 2024 I was appointed Full Professor. More details are available on the Career & Education page.

My research lies at the interface of materials science and nanotechnology, focusing on nanostructured materials and low-dimensional architectures with tailored physical and functional properties. I am particularly interested in the design, fabrication and characterization of electronic and optoelectronic devices, from photovoltaic cells, thermoelectric devices, sensors and biosensors to magnetic nanostructures and electrochemical energy-storage systems.

Alongside research, I am deeply committed to teaching and mentoring young researchers, to science outreach, and to fostering national and international collaborations, convinced that curiosity, creativity and the exchange of knowledge are essential drivers of scientific discovery and innovation.
